Recycling

Recycling is good for the environment and it also benefits our church in a small way!

Type of item we recycle What is recycled Where to take the item to be recycled - all are at the church except for the last item.
Computer Printer Cartridges Drop off your old inkjet, laser / toner cartridges There is a cartridge recycling box in the lower narthex at Church - We earn $2.00 credit for every cartridge recycled, which is used to pay for our office supplies; such as paper for printing our Sunday Bulletins & church newsletter, cartridges for our printers and copier, and general office supplies.
     
Aluminum Cans All aluminum soda and beer cans.  No aluminum pie pans Back side door - We earn the going rate that is paid for aluminum
     
Newspapers & magazines Newspapers & magazines - no cardboard & no shredded paper In the yellow bin across the street from the church, we earn $5.00 for every ton of paper recycled
     
Metal items - large and small metal items: appliances (stoves, sinks, dishwashers, refrigerators: Freon must be drained), lawn mowers, old cars, metal cabinets, metal poles & shelving, etc. Prospect Metal Company at 1575 Route 309  Quakertown, PA 18951  215-536-6859  and when you pull onto the drive on scale, please give them our church name and they will credit your recycling weight/amount to our account: Chestnut Hill Church
